The door at the bottom allows for cleaning of the box when necessary and for young to be checked and rung by licensed handlers.
Please note it is against the law to disturb Barn Owls. If the barn Owl is using the box there is usually no need to clean it very often as they nest on their own pellets. You can place wood chips in the base of the box to help with nesting material. You can often tell when a box is in use as there will be pellets on the ground near by and often white marks down the side of the box. |
