The bug box is designed to attract beneficial garden bugs such as ladybirds, lacewing and mason bees to your garden. The box should be sited in a warm, sunny, sheltered position, out of prevailing winds and close to vegetation; it can be fitted on the side of a building or wall.

The box is made 1 inch sawn plain timber approx 600mm x 600mm and 200mm deep. It is divided into 8 compartments which can be filled with different items to encourage the insects to use. 2 sections have Perspex fronts to allow food to be placed in, Fruit is a favourite item, do not worry if the fruit is going off as they enjoy these. Other items that can be placed in the different sections include bamboo, sheep fleece, cardboard tubes or corrugated cardboard, slate, rotten wood and dried grasses.
