Little Owls love tunnelling and so the design of the box incorporates this.

The entrance has a platform allowing the owls to land and enter; there is a long tunnel where the male will often sit while the female is in the box.

There is an access hole at the front allowing for cleaning and checking of young.

The box is made of 9mm plywood and the roof is felted

The box is painted with a water based wood preservative
